The Office of the Attorney General is seeking an experienced attorney to represent the Division of Child Support Enforcement of the Virginia Department of Social Services in its mission to determine paternity and establish, modify, and enforce child and medical support obligations.  We offer the challenge and opportunity of public service, a professional team environment, and competitive salaries and benefits.  This position will work out of the Newport News, Virginia office.

NEWPORT NEWS, VIRGINIA

DUTIES:  Assistant Attorneys General litigate in state and federal courts; provide legal advice and counsel to the Division on cases; participate in legal committees covering appeals, legislation, policy and training; maintain open communication and positive relationships with courts; cultivate an attorney-client relationship with the Division; supervise personnel and attend and participate in statewide and regional meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Successful candidate will have excellent analytical and communication skills. Interpersonal skills and ability to work with client agency are essential.  The candidate must be admitted to the Virginia State Bar.
