South Boston Man to be Held Without Bond
McDonnell Hails Decision
Richmond- Virginia Attorney General Bob McDonnell announced that one hour ago Judge Carol Gravitt of the Halifax County Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court denied bond for a South Boston man facing 54 combined child pornography charges.

David K. Tetterton, 40, was charged with 27 counts of production of child pornography, and 27 counts of possession of child pornography. On Friday, March 24, Tetterton’s bond was set at $50,000, and he was able to meet his bond early Saturday, thus releasing him into the community. This afternoon prosecutors from the Office of the Attorney General, along with Halifax Commonwealth’s Attorney Kim White, appeared in court to argue for no bond for Tetterton, given the severity of the charges he was facing. That has now occurred and Tetterton will be in jail pending trial.

Speaking about the decision, Attorney General McDonnell remarked, “The denial of bond for David Tetterton is the right decision. The charges he faces are extreme, unsettling, and serious. Given the evidence at hand, Tetterton should not be released into the community. We must do all we can to combat child pornography and sexual predators, my office is committed to this effort, and today is a victory for it.”
